Stills uses augmented reality to place videos in the hands of participants. Viewers are invited to bring the photographs to life and play with the corresponding video that they appear to hold. The photographs in Stills do not stop time. Instead, they call attention to perpetual change. The camera’s fixed point of view highlights the constant flux of light and sound in each scene. Stillness is contrasted with continuous motion.
