Encapsulate is a series of stereo slides presented in handheld 3D viewers. The work creates an intimate three-dimensional experience of abandoned fragments of popular culture. Because each viewer sees a different image privately through the device, the work emphasizes the personal nature of perception. The work shows discarded advertisements, phone books, textbooks, and family snapshots found in the landscape, whose decay reveals an underside to the glossy representations of contemporary culture.
